Every day, Wash Cycle Laundry services the mission-critical laundry needs of universities, hospitals, businesses, and consumers across Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Since our founding, we have hauled nearly 3 million pounds of cargo on bikes and created 48 jobs, over half of which are filled by formerly homeless, incarcerated, or formerly welfare-dependent adults. We are proving that bicycles are economically viable alternatives for commercial-scale intra-city freight, and that low-wage service jobs can be launching pads into upwardly mobile careers. |
